About

My name is Jessi, and I've lived in Japan since 2012. I love crafting, miniature things, as well as appreciating and wearing kimono, and creating my hina dolls allows me to explore all of these passions at once.
My hope is that the dolls you adopt touch your heart, as they carry a part of my own.
Traditionally, hina dolls represent the members of the Japanese Imperial Court during the Heian period. During the Doll Festival, Hinamatsuri, sets of hina dolls are arranged neatly with miniature furnishings and decorations, and displayed for appreciation. If we look at the word hina, though, it originally describes something small and charming, like a baby chick (the other meaning of the word)! Though the dolls I create are not necessarily court nobles, I think they still embody the spirit of Hinamatsuri, in that their delicate detailing and politely seated posture evoke the same lovely, miniature magic that we have come to enjoy every spring.
